About Sandy Dimke
A Beaufort, South Carolina based fine art photographer
I love creating art through the medium of photography. My goal is always to freeze a moment in time in a creative manner, either by unique camera angles or adding a different perspective with post processing. I value the interplay of color, texture and patterns that unify the image. A traveler at heart, my photos try to capture the excitement of the world around me, whether I am in the Lowcountry or in more exotic locales of Europe, Asia, Africa or Australia.
Born and raised in Schenectady, NY, I received a BA from Nazareth University and an MBA in marketing from the University at Albany (NY).
I live in Bull Point Plantation, in rural Beaufort County South Carolina, with my husband Russ, our fluffy cat, Molly and certified therapy dog MacIn”TOSH”.
In 2005 I was instrumental in establishing the Photography Club of Beaufort, serving as president for the first 3 years and various board positions subsequently.
From 2005-present I served Beaufort Art Association on their governing board and Gallery Committee.
I presently serves as worldwide Chairperson of the Pictorial Print Division for the Photographic Society of America. I currently hold the PPSA distinction.
In 2019 I was inducted into the National Association of Women Artists and serve on the Board of the South Carolina Chapter.
In 2022 I was inducted into the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) with the AFIP distinction.
